About the Nigerian Community of Charlotte

Founded in 1991, The Nigerian Community of Charlotte, is a non-profit organization that builds partnership between US citizens and residents, and Nigeria Communities, supports health improvement, education and environmental development, and promote entrepreneurial ideas.

We work with local community leaders to provide education and means of improving family health, and reducing infant mortality while we provide project monitoring, evaluation and documentation. We bring the spirit and vitality of African people into homes and businesses in Charlotte area.

The objectives of the Community shall be:

a. To uphold and promote the Cultural Heritage of Nigeria.
b. To serve as an avenue for the Unity of all Nigerians.
c. To promote good relationship amongst members and host Community.
d. To encourage educational advancement, economic and social welfare of members.

Our goals include:

1.Engaging families in unique learning experiences that they can enjoy and at the same time benefit from.
2.Challenging children to learn through interaction with other kids and exploring African culture
3.Enhancing self-esteem through learning, forum, discussion, exploration and interaction with the community
4.Creating an aesthetic, positive environment for our members and their families.

Our core values are that:

1.All members deserve equal  respect
2.Members and their families are very  important 
3.We need to be active in the community.


Monthly meetings

Nigerian Community of Charlotte holds its monthly two-hour meeting on the last Sunday of every month. The meeting starts at 5:00 PM and ends at 7:00 PM at Holiday Inn Charlotte University, 8520 University Executive Park Driver, Charlotte, NC 28262, Phone: (704) 547-0999. In the first hour of the meeting, we discuss about the affairs of the organization. The second hour (between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM) is reserved for group discussion sessions.
In the discussion sessions, we invite speakers to speak about the topics of their speciality.
These topic range from sales and marketing to technology, from human affairs to health and environmental issues all across the globe. Check the calendar of events for the next meeting.
